In our first session we’ll work together to establish the goals and activities you’d love to work on with your dog. We’ll pinpoint any areas of concern and discuss ways to navigate them. We will also give you some training activities you can start right away. You’ll end up with a customized training plan and package to fit your needs, lifestyle and budget.

We Train 4 You (yes, we train your dog!)
Training your dog can feel like a second job. Let us make it easy and stress free for you. We will train your dog for you at your home. This approach ensures training happens in real life settings and your dog isn’t going crazy being away from you. Best of all, you don’t have to be there so you can do what you want.
Each week, we train your dog 4 times a week at your home. At the last weekly session, you and Wags on Tails train together so we can ‘hand over’ the cues your dog has learned to maintain his progress. Here is where you get to watch your dog shine with his new manners such as sit, down, come, leash walking. During these sessions, we provide tips regarding housetraining, crate training or other dog topics as needed. We also include a follow up session to make sure the training sticks.

Private Coaching (we work together to train your dog)
Private coaching is for those dog lovers who have the time and energy to take on the training themselves. During coaching sessions you will learn how to teach a variety of behaviors, such as sit, down, come, leash walking, how to address housetraining, alone time, plus other dog related topics. This path also includes a mid-week 15 minute ‘Check in’ (phone or virtual) in case you have questions or need some help.

- You are unique and so is your dog. Why get generic training in a group class?
- Professional handouts to go along with the training so you can concentrate your dog instead of taking notes
- Our positive training approach strengthens the bond between you and your dog
Dynamic Duo (the best of both worlds hybrid program)
Do you want to train your dog eventually but want intensive help to get started? The 6-week hybrid package is perfect for those who want the best of both worlds! Your training package begins with 2 weeks of the Train 4 You path to get your puppy up to speed on a variety of skills. You’ll then switch to Private Coaching path for the remaining 4 weeks so you can continue to progress with ongoing support.

Pick Your Package
Good Dog
If your dog needs to learn basic manners at home this package is for you. Your dog will learn key skills based on your goals which may include: sit, down, come, stay, leash walking, wait, polite greetings, leave it, drop it. Or we can work on other behaviors you need help with such at pulling or jumping for example.

World Tour
To take a dog with you around town or elsewhere, your dog needs to learn manners outside the home. We can help train your dog in the real world setting so this becomes a reality. Depending upon your goals, we may train at outdoor cafés, sidewalks, parks, the Rail Trail but not the dog park, hardware stores or any place that allows dogs, with your approval of course. (5% discount for ‘Good Dog’ graduates)

‘New Dog’ Prep
Ready for a new dog? It is so exciting when your dog arrives. Having everything you need can make that special day more spectacular when you are prepared.
We cover how and what you need to get started on the right paw with your dog before you get them. We cover what equipment you need, how to provide a safe place for your dog, handling the honeymoon period, feeding, crate training, basic dog training approach, safe toys and other topics.
