In our first session we’ll work together to establish the goals and activities you’d love to work on with your puppy. We’ll also cover some basic puppy topics, including daily routine, training methods and socialization. In addition, we’ll pinpoint any areas of concern and discuss ways to navigate them. You will also get some training activities you can start right away with your pup. You’ll end up with a customized training plan and training package to fit your needs, lifestyle and budget.

We Train 4 You (yes, we train your dog!)
Raising a puppy can feel like a full-time job! Let us remove the stress and train your puppy for you. This approach ensures training happens in real life settings and your puppy isn’t stressed being away from you. Best of all, you don’t have to be there so you can do what you want.
Each week, we train your puppy 4 times a week at your home. At the last weekly session, you and Wags on Tails train together so we can ‘hand over’ cues to maintain your pup’s progress. Here is where you get to watch your puppy shine with her new manners such as sit, down, come, leash walking. During these sessions, we will also provide tips on how to reduce mouthing, successful house-training, crate training and socialization. Finally, we include a follow up session to make sure the training sticks.

Private Coaching (we work together to train your dog)
Private coaching is for those dog lovers who have the time and energy to take on the training themselves. During coaching sessions you will learn how to teach a variety of behaviors, such as sit, down, come, leash walking, how to address mouthing/nipping, housetraining, socialization plus other puppy raising topics. This path also includes a mid-week 15 minute ‘Check in’ (phone or virtual) in case you have questions or need some help.

- Includes professional handouts to go along with the training so you can concentrate your dog instead of taking notes

Dynamic Duo (the best of both worlds hybrid program)
Do you want to train your puppy eventually but want intensive help to get started? The 6-week hybrid package is perfect for those who want the best of both worlds! Your training package begins with 2 weeks of the We Train 4 You path to get your puppy up to speed on a variety of skills. You’ll then switch to Private Coaching path for the remaining 4 weeks so you can continue to progress with ongoing support.

World Tour
The next stage in training for puppies is to head out in the world to practice their manners. Depending upon your goals, we may train at outdoor cafés, sidewalks, parks, the Rail Trail but not the dog park, hardware stores or any place that allows dogs with your approval of course.

Puppy Prep
Ready for a new puppy? It is so exciting when your puppy arrives. Having everything ready can make that special day more spectacular when you are prepared.
We cover how and what you need to get started on the right paw with your puppy before you get them. We cover what equipment you need, how to provide a safe space for puppy and family, how to start house training with fewer accidents, feeding, crate training, basic puppy training approach, safe toys and other topics.
